Talking Point: Has This Been The Best Month Ever For Xbox Game Pass?

With today's final Xbox Game Pass update for April 2025, we're almost done talking about this month's new additions to the library - but not before we can wax lyrical about just how amazing April 2025 has been for Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass service.

In fact, we think this could be the best month ever for Xbox Game Pass, no joke. Sure, we've probably had some more jam-packed months in previous years, but judging on sheer quality? Especially for day one releases? Honestly, we can't think of a better month... ever.

Let's go back over the big additions this month then, shall we? April 8th was a big day for the service when Diablo 3 and South of Midnight landed in the library; the latter being one of our favourite Xbox Game Studios releases in absolutely ages. The early part of the month also delivered indie hit Blue Prince, which came out of nowhere and hugely impressed XGP players.

We then had a bit of a break in the middle of the month, but Microsoft crammed the back half of April with some all-timers. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched back-to-back like some incredibly tasty Xbox Game Pass sandwich, and now Towerborne has just appeared in the library as well. Another first-party effort landing in the library this month!

Some of April's smaller additions, such as the return of GTA 5 and tomorrow's Far Cry 4 aren't half bad either - so yep, we've decided this is the best month of Xbox Game Pass ever. Literally, just now, we've made the call here at PX!
