So, the first thing to mention is that here in the UK, Microsoft is currently offering discounts on refurbished versions of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, bringing them down to £399.99 and £209.99 respectively. If you compare that with the new prices, it's a saving of £100 on the Xbox Series X and £90 on the Xbox Series S.
We've heard generally good things about Xbox's own refurbished consoles in the past, but if you want the extra peace of mind, Microsoft also offers an "Extended Hardware Service" that lasts for three years and only costs £19 / £29 depending on which console you buy. This becomes available once you've added the X or S to your basket.
The UK isn't the only place with these discounts, as we've spotted them being offered in some European countries too. In France, for example, a refurbished Xbox Series X has been reduced from 519,99 € down to 469,99 €. It's well worth checking the Microsoft Store in your region to see if you can get a discount on these systems.

In countries like the United States, you can also get refurbished consoles direct from Microsoft, although they're unfortunately not discounted at present. Alternatively, other retailers are still offering better deals than the standard retailer price - Walmart has pre-owned and brand-new X and S consoles with discounts right now, for example.
Basically, what we're trying to say is that if you're in the market for an Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, you should definitely shop around. Microsoft's new console prices are going to become the norm for most retailers, but that doesn't mean you can't find a good discount, especially if you're willing to grab a refurbished system instead.
Don't forget that Microsoft Rewards can also be really helpful when it comes to Microsoft Store purchases, to the point where some people have literally bought their Xbox consoles for free as a result of it!
