When and where was The Explorator announced for Xbox? Still a thing?
Battlecakes? Probably not coming to Xbox anymore...
Mouse?
How about a release date for Visions of Mana?
Nothing against any of the great announcements from this event. Just trying to keep track of games that were unveiled years ago but get very infrequent updates (I realize Mana wasn't announced all that long ago....). It kind of keeps me from getting excited for any announcements that don't have firm (and believable) release windows.
Same boat for my Nintendo Switch fandom. Been waiting for years for Akatori and Ruffy And The Riverside, the latter of which was delayed to "Winter 2023". I guess there's some joy knowing there's always something to look forward to (don't want to sound impatient).
Voted for Halo Infinite. Keep up the momentum and surprise us with the release of Couch-Co-Op. Yeah I know it's not happening but what a treat if it did....
Odyssey, Valhalla, & Far Cry 5 are my favorite Ubisoft games.
I purchased all three during the perpetual Ubisoft sales for (probably) $12 or $15 each.
That's all three games (hundreds of hours of entertainment) for under $45.
Having had that experience, I have zero interest in subscribing to their new program. To each their own with their spending habits, but personally I always wait on Ubi games due to their discounts coming early and often.
"Leon becomes injured/incapacitated early on and the entire 2nd half of the campaign becomes Ashley's game."
^^Obviously just made that up^^
I mean, other than Capcom attempting to pull off some massive subversion of expectations (and piss off a giant portion of their fanbase in the process), I can't imagine they will stray too far from the base game.
FFVII remake made some....adjustments. MGS2 threw everyone off when it was discovered you weren't Snake for the majority of the game.
I just don't see the possibility of any major spoilers worth avoiding. Then again, what do I know?
@Serpentes420 I'm in the same boat. I basically gave up on Infinite after they pulled the "couch-co-op" rug right out from under my 9 year old son. I mean, he was devastated as we had played through all the campaigns in MCC in anticipation of Infinite....
Still, I scan Infinite news when it appears, seeing if any campaign expansions are mentioned. Then I move on. Sounds like campaign expansion was never a priority, wasn't even planned, and (with the entire game moving to a different engine) isn't going to happen anytime soon.
Aren't these games perpetually on sale for huge discounts? I own many of these titles and doubt I paid more than $15 for any of them (besides Valhalla). Just not feeling it. I dig the games I own, but am not interested in this service.
Right? Maybe release it on November 11th, 2023 so they're only one digit off from their original stated date. Then it could still be released on the Skyrim anniversary.
Like other commenters, I'm not too bothered because I know I'll eventually enjoy it. However it is annoying that they keep trying to be specific with dates and windows (Their website recently updated with "Starfield arrives exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC in the first half of 2023"). It would be nice if they just took a "when it's ready" stance because I prefer mysterious anticipation to continual disappointment.
The two gentleman in the video seem so unenthusiastic about this game. Don't get me wrong, I hate the fake hype that often accompanies promotional videos like this....but geez. Maybe they just hadn't had their morning coffee yet.
Nevertheless I'm underwhelmed after watching this. And maybe I just have Ubi-burnout after having spent 100+ hours in Valhalla... I hope it finds an audience as it's clear massive amounts of people worked really hard on this game.
Unfortunately you'll be able to re-post this list exactly one year from today. You'll only have to change it to "2024" and update a couple of games.
Not trying to be flippant as I really appreciate the work that went into creating this list. However there's no way Avatar and Alan Wake 2 are coming out in 23. I'll stop there before even moving through the alphabet...
I am looking forward to Starfied and am cautiously optimistic we will see it in 23.
@Snake_V5
Personally I hope it is Castlevania related (but guessing it's not). Would be happy for MGS fans if it's something for them, but I recently re-watched the excellent Vania series on Netflix and am chomping at the bit for another entry. Bloodstained was just fine, and all the 2D compilations have been nice too, but a proper Castlevania is long overdue.
"We will be going dark for a little while so we can focus on making the absolute best game possible"
So, will this be coming out around the same time Beyond Good and Evil 2 releases? 2025? 26? Never?
I hate feeling (and sounding) this cynical as I'm a big fan of the Splinter Cell franchise. I hope it turns out amazing and releases earlier than my expectations.
Only speaking for myself (obviously) but I wish games weren't announced this early on.
I'm assuming that being excited and following this game's development will include years of:
A "staff shake-up" or two
A year (or multiple years) of radio silence
A "new direction" in a couple of years
A few "no-shows" at various industry trade shows.
Maybe I need to not allow my excitement for Metroid Prime 4 inform my overall cynicism. That was announced in June, 2017. Different console, different company, so yeah it's a "me problem." Lol.
Are those decently sized hills in the background beginning at about the 2:38 mark in the top video?
Being from a mountainous state (full of climbers), the more snobby residents used to rip on Florida by saying Disney World's Space Mountain was the highest peak in all of Florida (it's not...Britton Hill is Florida's highest natural point at 345-ft above sea level).
Still, being someone who notices these things, it felt like they were still in Los Santos once the character exited the diner and you got glimpses of the horizon.
Regardless, my two cents are that I'm excited to return to Vice City, and I concur with other commenters that I hope there's a robust single player campaign.
My 10 year old son: "Dad, when can we do couch co-op?"
Literally every week at least once. He played the campaign solo but stopped before the final battle with The ****** because he didn't want to beat it without me.
He was so disappointed at the previous announced delays to this feature.
What an absolute f**king joke. I don't even have the heart to tell him yet because he's having a rough start to his new school year.
I got him into Halo by playing through the MC Collection campaigns with him via couch-co-op. We even had a "Halo Christmas" last year, complete with Jazzwares Halo figures, the Cardboard Master Chief Standee, and of course Infinite.
@Royalblues Well I like your enthusiastic optimism (and well spoken points to justify it.) I've been getting tired of the hate to be honest.
For my part, I'm just hoping for some single-player attention (my son keeps asking "Is there couch co-op yet Dad?"). I'd love to be able to replay levels (I know this is coming soon) and for some new story and biomes.
@Lavalera Thanks for the reply. Yeah the Greek islands of Odyssey and lush greenery of Valhalla really pull me in. Origins' setting just doesn't do it for me. Maybe I'll try it after I've had some time away from the series (after I complete Valhalla).
I can't claim to be an Assassin's Creed fan. I had never played the earlier games in the series.
And then I bought Odyssey on a whim (for like $15) and ended up sinking over 120 hours into it. I'm currently about 40 hours into Valhalla and enjoying it.
Would Origins feel like an inferior version of those two games since it was the 1st AC game to go this route? Or would Origins still be great to start even after completing Odyssey and Valhalla? It seems like Origins has some pretty passionate fans.
When I access quick resume, it literally hicups, Eivor suddenly has no clothing/equipment on, and then I get a message that it "failed to save" and tells me to restart. I stopped even attempting to quick resume with this game some time ago. I now shut it down completely each time to avoid the hassle.
However quick resume works flawlessly for me on other games and I love it. Including other Ubisoft games (Odyssey, Fenyx Rising, etc.)
Cross promotion with Hasbro. Would love to be racing autobots vs other autobots. Somewhere in Mexico there's a hidden space bridge to Cybertron, right?

Re: Star Wars Outlaws Hands On Preview - An Undeniable Star Wars Adventure Despite Its Flaws
Mindless, predictable fun that I'm in no hurry to rush out and buy.
I'll gladly give it a go in the next few months. No doubt it'll be 50% cheaper by Black Friday (if not before).

Re: GTA 6 Launches In 2025, Watch The Official First Trailer Here
Wait, so it IS back in VICE CITY as speculated?
But, modern times?
Hmm.. I really enjoyed GTA Vice City, but a lot of that was due to the 80's vibe and soundtrack.
Oh well. Felt a little bit underwhelming, but probably just because I'm getting old. Will still give it a go in 2025.

Fury Road came out what, 7 years ago? And this game is pretty old.
Maybe when the next Mad Max movies are closer to being a reality (Furiosa prequel and a Mad Max sequel), then we will hear about another Mad Max game.
Like a lot of other commenters on here, I doubt it'll happen (but wish it would).

Still playing Halo. Just finished Lake and Hoa. Might play a little Code Veronica that was on sale last week for $3.99.
