I’ve been gaming since 89 and was a sega head. I had Nintendo also but had love for sega a tad more. I’ve seen the 32x and the jaguar and virtual boy and ngage come and go. But Xbox and their innovation have landed a special place in my heart. I like Sony and Nintendo but the Xbox offerings suit me well. GPU is nice, how it’s “niche” is beyond me. But the gaming market is weird I know folks who will stream all day on Spotify but scream about ownership of games have prime for deals and video but they have to own the game or whatever. I play games like I listen to music and some games I do buy but ownership of GAME is not the hill I die on.

Gamepass is so good. And here’s the thing I just bought MHWilds and AC Shadows but I feel like when games like wuchang get on the service it feels like a love letter. Even though I pay for said letter. “Doesn’t break the bank and at this point feels like a utility lol”

@LogicStrikesAgain I know to many people who bought a PS5 to play CoD, NBA 2k, Madden, Fortnite. So no, exclusives are not the only selling point. But to your point the square enix exclusivity deal is what made my other friends get a PS5.

It would be interesting to see what team Xbox does. I may be in the minority but if Xbox can pull it off this would open up steam gaming for me while enjoying what Xbox has provided over the years. I’ll get the Xbox branded handheld to see what the future holds.

I like the strategy, I want Microsoft to continue in hardware even add a handheld. Buddy of mine went and got a port also he can enjoy MHW away from the tv. To me a streaming handheld on a platform I don’t have much as far as purchases would be a waist. But if Microsoft did it with a little native power of its own I’d jump back into handheld alongside my tv hookup. Making money is the game in any industry and if Microsoft makes a bang for its buck across different console spaces then so be it long as the hardware is good and the games which they are currently then fine by me.

I’m playing this straight up it’s giving me daemon x machina armored core vibes. I get the gundam inspiration but I like gundam to.

I like my Xbox and I may get the switch 2 I mean with south by midnight, avowed Indiana jones stalker 2 I don’t know why folks are saying there no Xbox support. I get not knowing the future of xbox and the point of buying a console if you can play them on competition but man it’s not all that bad.

I dunno, I bought an X1 day one had three games, traded it for PS4 and rocked with it for the majority of the gen. Bought mostly physical then traded that stuff in for an X1X and the digital games began for me. Don’t know about yall but them casual folks have brand association with Sony. Madden, 2k, CoD, FF (barely). Folks friends play on there, it’s the machine to get. But they ain’t buying games forreal, no account to replacement PS5s. Also media spin. Rule of large numbers. Tekken sold less on XSX well Sony sold second highest after 50 million sold when they should be first also they are the branded fighting game machine nah PC sold the most.

Sucks for these guys especially tango… why tango?

I wouldn’t mind the acquisition, I don’t be understanding this make more games conversation. Just bought BG3 in December Tekken in January and dragons dogma this week. A few friends bought rebirth last month. What’s not to play out here?

And the hardware is too they just need to get ahead of everything. From strategy, business model, hardware. Friend of mine bought a PlayStation so he could play apex legends and overwatch and sometimes FF7 remake that dude ain’t serious but his loyalty to a box he barely plays with little to no value proposition is crazy. Plus his friends play on Xbox. Now let square put that collection on Xbox smh it would be glorious

Man I want a commitment to hardware and possibly the new controller… the games going to PlayStation thing don’t matter to me, but I’ve been holding off on that stealth ultra so Microsoft let me know

@UndyingInsurgent95 I mean Microsoft is the worlds richest company so whatever they do I don’t think they’re gonna base it off of less valuable companies such a Sony or Nintendo. Whether or not they put their games on other platforms I’m sure they have an explanation. Plus I got games to beat and enjoy I’m sure everyone else here do to.

So if I’m understanding this correctly, starfield is pushing the needle forward for gaming as far as world building? Not being linear, living universe, AI, lighting, dialogue, character building? And 30 fps allegedly breaks game immersion or makes it unfinished?

@Banjo- yea I’m fine with the 30 frames just last year I got a lg C1 so before that I couldn’t even tap into the 120 and at the time 60 wasn’t really a benchmarker and yea I got a switch so I’m used to 30 and I’ve been having since NES. Long as it plays well. I know this game isn’t star citizen

@BAMozzy I read all that like you were a go co chair at digital foundry. What you said make sense especially when you look at the scope. But then folks would compare GOWR, HZDFW,FF16. My question and I know design makes the difference, what makes a game like FF16 hit its targets at the scale they built that game? Is it engine? Hardware?

I don’t care about price increases, if it’s a game I want I can wait for a discount or if I can’t I can prepare for the purchase and play something else.

Case in point, I want to play FF16 don’t have a PS5 but I will by the time it comes out and by that time GoW should be cheaper so should horizon. My back log is filled I don’t need to spend 70 I remember when games were 50 brand new lol
