Re: Phil Spencer Discusses Why Xbox Game Pass Isn't For Everyone These Days

Cobra

When I got an Xbox One X, Game Pass was great! Numerous price increases later and the termination of Games With Gold from it and it's lost most of its value for me.

Meanwhile, on the Sony end, you still get your 3 games a month you can add to your library to grow it. Or I can use Game Pass and only play the games Microsoft wants me to with it...

Re: Reaction: Xbox's Commitment To Console Gaming Is Pleasing, But Big Questions Linger

Cobra

I don't think anyone actually though the announcement was going to be Microsoft dropping out of the console business. It was what we expected, them testing the waters. Will those games bring in more money from platforms with bigger user bases? Probably, and then you'll see more and more games ported over.

The panic comes in when using even more foresight as eventually, the cost of hardware manufacturing isn't so appealing either if they make a big return on all of these ports. It won't happen this gen, or the next. But it can certainly feel like writing on the wall.

Re: Review: AEW: Fight Forever - A Fun Wrestling Game That Doesn't Take Itself Too Seriously

Cobra

I'm not even that big of an AEW fan (I watched 1 PPV once) and have been loving this game! I tired of the WWE 2K games long ago, and I don't even buy them all. I let a bit of time lapse between purchases but still end up feeling like I've just bought the same game again and it isn't just myself, I can't even convince my friends to play those games with me anymore.

But this, now this is fun! I wasn't sure how good it would turn out, I mean yes No Mercy was the blueprint and you had wrestlers involved that loved that game, but that was also the same scenario for TNA iMPACT. Here though, you can feel the extra mile they went to, to bring that type of game roaring into the present day. I also love how each wrestler feels unique, something normally missing.

I never found Road to Elite as quick as people claim it is... but even then, when there are challengers to complete it multiple times with multiple characters... do we really want it much longer? Still, if they add more content and more paths to it down the road, I wouldn't complain.

Also have to say, this is the 1st time a hardcore (or Lights Out if you will) match actually feels like a hardcore match. Normally there is such a small number of weapons available I wonder why they even bother adding the mode.

So not only have I been having a blast, but I really can't wait to see what the future holds for this game.

Re: Xbox Fans Are Spotting More Potential New Backwards Compatible Games

Cobra

God, please be true, still so many older games that never became backwards compatible. Now the backwards compatible team doesn't need to work on backwards compatibility for the Series X/S anymore, let's see more games added. Still really want to play The Last Remnant, Splatterhouse, Scarface: The World Is Yours, and the Project Zero (Fatal Frame) games on my Xbox One X.

Re: Mini Review: Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl - Not So Smashing

Cobra

Have to say, the review pretty much nails it. It's just so bland right now, and despite the common defence of "limited budget" they haven't priced it as a budget title. At this very point in time, just get Smash, or if you're after a cheaper smash alternative Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Smash-Up or Kung Fu Panda Showdown of Legendary Legends are both cheaper more polished alternatives.

That said, I've got a lot of good memories with the licences in this game, so do want to see them really try and succeed. Voice acting is the biggest issue by far, then music, upping the player limit from only 4 could also help as well as the introduction of items can add a bit more chaos and fun that it is currently lacking.

So while I don't think it's worth the buy just yet, keep an eye on it if you haven't already purchased it.

Re: Microsoft Kicks Off Its 20 Years Of Xbox Celebrations

Cobra

Have been playing Xboxs since the original, but the One X is the 1st I've owned personally. With this 20 year celebration, I hope they really celebrate by giving us a ton more backwards compatible games, now that would feel like a celebration of the past 20 Xbox years.

Re: Guide: Will More Games Be Added To Xbox Backwards Compatibility?

Cobra

This is the main thing I'm interested in, the majority of my Xbox One library are backward compatible games rather than Xbox One games. So really want to see even more titles become backwards compatible, especially hoping for Fatal Frame 1&2 (Project Zero 1&2) and Scarface: The World Is Yours.
