I'm playing The Last of Us 2 part II on PC. Such a shame that they didn't release these games on Xbox. That's why they'll have no money from me. The game is obviously fire though, but I knew that already.
I can't wait for all this "Xbox betrayed me" debate to go away. It'll probably take a fews years before we can concentrate on games once again and stop talking business.
Maybe we'll lose some angry fans on the way but frankly I couldn't care less about these, and I welcome with open arms all news comers who are way over this console war BS. And I'm glad my PS friends can play the same games I do.
A little unity would be great in this broken world.
To me the only 2-3 things that could be improved in their future games is:
less loading screens, but I'm not worried about this one for TESVI because Starfield is a totally different world design.
population and characters animation
less rigid conversations
I'm not even talking the old school camera during dialogue, because the fixed it with a single option in Starfield.
So I agree some stuff could be improved, but I definitely think it should be done with iterations of the Creation Engine, rather than using a new engine, which would only result in an aweful buggy mess as they have no experience with it and as it would destroy the community.
Same debate over and over, and same answer: exactly what this dude says: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cZWCaH0Zrs "The day they leave Creation Engine behind to produce an Unreal Engine 5 game is the day Bethesda Game Studios die". 100% agree. What makes Bethesda great is its amazing community, you don't want to mess with that.
@Millionski BO6 had about all dev and QA manpower on the planet, and Stalker 2 was made from a smaller team dealing with actual war. They released the game they could with the strength they had, and the value it brings is firstly an awesome game even though unpolished, and secondly the support it received from Microsoft which is a good thing for gaming, for GSC and for Xbox.
It's looking more and more like this remake won't be Skyblivion. Honestly if it's not, that would be a disaster for the Skyblivion team, who have poured themselves into this projet for years now. I just can't believe Bethesda would do that to its community...
I'm about 2/3 through and this game is so awesome and refreshing. It's just pure joy. I can't even begin to understand how anyone would give it a 6... 🤦♂️
I see many people going "then I don't need an Xbox".
It's your choice and I'm fine with it. I personnally didn't choose Xbox over Playstation because of the exclusives. It's just an ecosystem and culture I enjoy more. And I'm ok with missing on a few great games, there are tons of other games out there to enjoy.
Not to mention the strongest asset of it all: playing with an Xbox controller.
If Microsoft has the power of sticking to timed exclusives AND keeping a healthy business, then I'm all for it.
I would love to see my PS friends play the same games I play and talk for hours about it, the same way I do with my Xbox friends.
@MaseSco From your comment I would understand you're not sure you want to own it.
If that's the case, why not try it on Game Pass? If you don't like it you simply unsubscribe, and all you've lost is 3 or 4 bucks.
@JustCameHereToSay Empathy. I just think about the devs who just accomplished something great, go read the reviews and see a journalist from a renowned website calling their game a "misfire". It makes me feel bad for them and it doesn't send the right message to the industry.
Me sad. But me'll be ok. Moving on now.
@JustCameHereToSay No. I'm not saying I want more dishonest and positive reviews. I'm saying I want more honest and positive reviews. When the game clearly deserves it of course. If it's bad, I have no problem with a bad review score.
I was not bothered at all by Shattered Space getting 5, even though I loved Starfield and couldn't wait for this DLC. Because it really didn't feel good at all, I had zero fun with it and it really was poor content.
@Ilyn I'm sorry I'm just salty because I'll probably never get over the fact that they willingly published a 4/10 review of Stalker 2. It's just too cold-hearted to me and deliberately mean, considering the context. But I'm done talking about this. And I'm also done praising this website for its reliability.
@JustCameHereToSay oh but we did. And most of us understood that this game is worth our time, so we're not turned down by this review. What concerns me is that this website, and other Xbox fans website, should be a positive force to the Xbox brand. By giving all major exclusives 4s and 6s it does quite the opposite and people always use this to discredit the brand. Anyway that's just my take on this.
Can't wait for Fable to get a 5 because it "could have been so much more" and Avowed a 3 because "it just sucks".
4 for Stalker 2 and 6 for Indi, you guys not enjoying gaming anymore? I mean I appreciate honesty, I just appreciate positivity even more.
Stalker 2 is a good game and doesn't deserve a 4, and I'm not even talking about what the studio went through to produce such game, which makes your rating outrageous to me.
And Indi looks like a very enjoyable game.
It's very sad that the best Xbox website (to me) is lowering global scores that much. I'm not asking you for 9s and 10s, but man 4 and 6 is a joke.
@True_Gamer1 I said in my post that exclusives turn me down. I'm ok with the fact that buying studios brings cash in in the long term, so it makes your business healthier, I'm just not ok with exclusives. It's not all black and white.
When Xbox bought Zenimax and ABK, I was mostly ok with it because I love Xbox and they were way behind Sony as a brand before all that, and I was afraid the brand couldn't keep up. Those 2 acquisitions balanced things a bit.
And I'm also ok with Sony making moves to keep on being a healthy business. Competition is essential, I want all major actors to keep thriving.
One thing that turns me down though is platform exclusives. FromSoft games being exclusive to PS would be as much a disappointment to me as Elder Scrolls being exclusive to Xbox. These games have great and wide communities, across all platforms and that would be a true shame to prevent anyone from playing them.
@user0 I was also going to rage quit this mess when I saw the login screen, then I figured since MS bought Activision we'll likely see this a few times, so I did it. They don't ask much, only email and password. The game (campaign) is worth these few clicks honestly.
The only CoD games I played were the 2003 and 2005 releases, so it's been a long time. I started BO6 campaign yesterday, it's good fun for now. I'll just finish it and uninstall this whole CoD platform thing.
Then go back to Brothers, or Inscryption. Or buy Divinity 2, since I got my last BG3 (<3) achievement a few days ago.
I rarely preorder games, but I did it for this one after watching the documentary. I mean, this studio should be praised for how they handled things during the war + cooked this (probably) awesome game.
Preordered. Even if the game isn't sensationnal, I'll be very proud of owning it. What these guys did is exceptionnal to me, I love it. And I'm not just talking about the game itself, but also what the company did for them employees and their families, as we see in the documentary. I've be waiting for this game since I played the first games a long time ago, and the story behind it just makes it even more of an epic event.
I don't get why people think bad reviews come from haters.
I loved the based game. Sure it had some flaws, even major ones, but I still loved it and was thrilled to get into this DLC. 9 hours later, I got all the achievements but I can't recall any "now that's cool" moment. Everything is meh. After a few dialogues from the main quest I skipped almost everything I could because of how boring everything was. The loot was meaningless, no special weapon or item, no new power, Andreja was useless... Exploration was fun at first but then I saw how bland stuff was. And do I need to mention the 15FPS final fight (on Series X 60FPS target, performance mode)? Damn.
Now I'm angry, because it hurt the love I had for this company and the games they made. This DLC is so poor compared to the competition. Do you remember that Blood and Wine was released for 19$? I mean, Blood and Wine!
The only hope I have is that now that they've hit rock bottom, with all the reviews and all, things will change before TES VI hits. This one is (was?) my most anticipated game of all time.
@Fiendish-Beaver as a true non-expert in this kind of games (BG3 was a first for me), I managed to do an Honour mode run after 2 easier ones. So you got this.
Remember, you can crash the game whenever you want and reload your save. And use Withers to get your friends back (also, pickpocket him to get your money back).
The main difficulty I had (which almost made me quit) was the boss at the end of act 2. I clearly wasn't prepared for it, I was underleveled because I basically only did the main quest. Wrong idea. So I was stuck in this fight for 3 whole days, with no way of going back. But I finally beat it. And act 3 was ok.
Unfortunately I never got the achievement, even if my save clearly says "Honour mode". I've been waiting for 5 months for Larian to deal with my request.
Great experience. Hard, for sure. But awesome.
@RiverGenie I had the same problem, and saw a lot of people addressing the same thing in Youtube comments.
Most of the time, the missing ingredient was just... downloading the DLC. I thought that 18gb update was it, but it's just an update. You need to go to the store, and install Shattered Space.
After that, I just jumped and immediately found the distress call...
What the hell happened in the last 20 years? From what I recall from when I was a teenager, the point of not buying the official controller was to save some cash, and now this unofficial controller is twice the price of the official one? Please explain why anyone would buy that I'm completely lost.
Very interested in this one as well. 2020 felt like a pain in the ass to install and enjoy (for a noob like me), 2024 looks like a massive improvement on all levels. Beau boulot Asobo ! <3

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 'Patch 8' Now Live On Xbox, The Game's Final Major Update
Maybe my honour mode run will give me the achievement this time. It's the only one I miss. Anyway, can't wait to jump back in with my PS5 friends.

The game is obviously fire though, but I knew that already.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 29-30)
I'm back on Game Pass, and playing Spiritfarer at the moment.
How did I miss this gem? No idea. But 9.5/10, almost the perfect cosy game.

Project Zomboid.
