@Mighty90 Most of the big AAA releases that have had big problems, like Jedi Survivor, have had issues across all platforms. If any platform has gotten it worse this year, it’s been PC. There have been some really bad PC ports for the “master race”, lol.

It’s more fun that I anticipated it being and honestly was impressed with how good it looked in 60 FPS mode.

I was really looking forward to this but, yeah, the buggy release is what killed my interest. So think it’s not the idea or the game itself, just the state it was released in that caused poor sales.

When there’s so many new games, it’s easier to just move on than fight through issues.

I have both and when I got GT7, I really was disappointed in how it looked. Forza Motorsport did not disappoint. Now I haven’t gone back to do a direct comparison (maybe GT7 has gotten some updates?) But all I can say is that I think FM looks phenomenal.

Definitely adding this back to the long, long, long backlog! 😃

FWIW, the OpenCritic score for this is an 85. So Pure Xbox is closer to the average than its sister sites. I’m having a blast with it so far.

This is a legit great game. Really took me by surprise with how much fun it is. Also looks great and servers have been very smooth.

Taking that extra time to iron everything out on PC before the Xbox launch paid off!

It’s amazing. Probably the best indie game of the year and deserves all the praise it’s been getting.

As far as sim racers go, I’ve played both Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport over the years but honestly have to say Forza comes out on top for me.

Think it’s kind of silly to compare sim and arcade racers so not gonna go there.

@AlwaysPlaying But if the patch fixes the issue what would the need for a delay be? The patch will be out before the game releases.

Maybe they needed a review embargo like so many other games do until after the patch was sent out.

Then again, maybe the patch won’t fix everything. We won’t know until the game releases next week. I won’t judge the game until I play it.

One thing to keep in mind is that this game is NOT out yet. So if that 11 GB update does indeed fix the issues then Xbox gamers will never even know it had them to with.

We shall see. Fingers crossed!

Urgh. Hit the link and now when you try to install it, you get an error saying it’s Early Access and currently full. So anyone reading this after this comment probably won’t be able to get it until the full release.

Also wouldn’t be surprised if the full release has IAPs, etc.

Shocked that it does appear to be completely free. No IAPs.

I’m reading that Lamplighters League is an extremely buggy release, which is a shame because it looks so good. Let’s hope for a day one patch. If not they should have delayed.

Cannot wait to play this. Way, way too many great games recently released on GamePass and others still coming in the next few weeks. This is insane!

Phil has gotten a lot (mostly unfair) criticism from the recent leaks, but I still really like the guy. People on other sites think he is the devil, which is ridiculous. Sure, he has Xbox business interests first in mind as he should in his position. But he is a gamer and think he really loves it and the community as a whole.

I bought the Forza Horizon 5 and Starfield add ons but think I’m just going to hold off this time. Partly because I just have too many games to play already!

I still think it will come to GP regardless of the “error”. They probably just didn’t want it announced yet.

Sounds like the Payday 3 launch was a disaster though as far as servers.

Most industry analysts also believe “second-run” didn’t mean second rate. It just meant it was launching on Xbox after PC and Stadia.

If this was an MS employee, sad to say, but I’m sure they’d be fired. This was too huge of a mistake to make.

Crewfest 5-hour trial, Starfield and Baldur’s Gate 3 for me….whenever I can wrestle the TV away from the wife.

@Darylb88 I have no doubt that Persona 6 with as many Persona games have been ported and others on the way.

What makes me more excited about this one is that it’s a Vanillaware title (Atlas is just publishing). Pretty sure it’s the first. Their games are awesome!

Awesome to see Vanillaware having a game coming to Xbox. Maybe we’ll get some ports of older games in their catalog someday.

Surprised the new Star Ocean doesn’t seem to be coming. That series honestly hasn’t been great in a while anyway so don’t have high hopes for it.

Well, to be fair, Forza Horizons 5 had a 30 FPS mode. I won’t be using it but these options sound great as long as variable resolution isn’t 480p, lol. Looking forward to more details on that mode.

Might check this out again. It has promise but seemed like it needed more time in the oven. Hopefully this update is what it needed!

Great game but I’ll be playing Starfield…and Baldur’s Gate 3…and Lies of P…and, well, you get it.

Absolutely loving it so far. Only gripe is the lack of a mini-map. Otherwise, the sense of scale and awe is like no other game I’ve played to date. Combat is better than I expected (especially space combat). The writing is solid. And the game plays smooth and very polished.

Guess you shouldn’t play other disappointing games with similar (or worse) scores like Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima and Final Fantasy XVI then.

@FatalBubbles At the time it was higher but it’s still about the same, which is good because I thought FF XVI was great. So sounds like Starfield is in the same ballpark. Another winner in this stacked year!

@GeeEssEff All I was saying is that it’s in good company. Heck, I’ve been playing and enjoying FF XVI. But if you stirring up console wars that don’t exist makes your day, good for you!

I like it but as with most of these, it isn’t all that “dynamic”.

I have PS Extra through 2/25 but will dump it after that. GamePass is a better fit with the focus on newer games. PS Extra has some good stuff but it’s mostly older games I’ve already played or had no interest in.

The upcoming GamePass lineup is amazing and hope the bangers keep coming!

@FenIsMightier There’s a lot more than just those coming. But do what ever floats your boat. It’s fantastic for me.

Have this in mobile and honestly think these games work best there.

@Chaotic_Neutral Yes because other big games like Lies of P and Forza Motorsport and highly anticipated indie Sea of Stars are worth nothing. There are a TON of great games already announced for GamePass even without Activision-Blizzard.

Guessing there likely will be some bugs with the console version of this so hopefully we’ll get the new and improved version when it gets to Xbox. Always glass half full.
